This Privacy Policy explains how Farm Tracker ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), developed by Ankit Patel, collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the Farm Tracker Android application and its related services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following information when you use the App:
- Account information: Google account identifier, name, and email address used for sign-in.
- Profile information: full name, village, mobile number, and other information you enter in your profile.
- Farm information: farm name, crop, area, season, plantation date, seed treatment, pesticide information, notes, spray records, crop completion records, production, and income information.
- Expense information: shops, purchased items, quantities, prices, bill dates, payment status, notes, and invoice images or PDF documents that you choose to upload.
- Notification information: Firebase registration tokens, a random app-installation device identifier, notification delivery information, and notification history stored on your device.
- Technical information: app version, authentication tokens, request timestamps, and limited server logs needed for security, troubleshooting, and reliable operation.
The App does not request access to your contacts, call history, SMS messages, precise location, microphone, or advertising identifier. Files are accessed only when you choose an invoice image or PDF using Android's document picker.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- create and authenticate your Farm Tracker account;
- store, synchronize, display, edit, and delete your farm and expense records;
- send service announcements and notifications you are eligible to receive;
- provide synchronization across your signed-in devices;
- secure accounts, prevent unauthorized access, investigate errors, and maintain the service;
- respond to privacy, support, and account-deletion requests.
3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
Farm Tracker uses the following service providers:
- Google Sign-In to authenticate your Google account.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging to register devices and deliver notifications.
- Google Play services for Android platform functionality, including in-app updates.
- Our hosting provider to operate the Farm Tracker API, database, and invoice storage.
These providers may process limited information on our behalf according to their own privacy policies. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share personal information for third-party advertising. Information may be disclosed if required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a lawful business transfer.
4. Legal Basis and User Choice
We process information to provide the features you request, maintain our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, comply with legal obligations, and, where required, based on your consent. You may decline notification permission, but you may then not see notification alerts. Uploading invoice files is optional.
5. Data Security
We use HTTPS encryption during transmission, authenticated API access, user-level access controls, hashed session tokens, restricted upload types and sizes, non-guessable invoice filenames, and server safeguards designed to protect information. No electronic storage or transfer method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
6. Data Retention
Account, farm, crop, spray, expense, and uploaded invoice information is retained while your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. Invalid notification tokens may be removed automatically. Server security logs may be retained for a limited period for troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
When an account is deleted, associated active records are removed from our operational database. Residual copies may remain temporarily in secure backups until those backups are overwritten, unless longer retention is legally required or necessary to prevent fraud or abuse.
7. Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion in either of these ways:
- Inside the App: open Profile and select Delete Account & Data.
- Outside the App: email patelankitm1992@gmail.com with the subject “Farm Tracker Account Deletion Request” and the email address associated with your account.
We may ask you to verify account ownership before processing an emailed request. Account deletion removes the associated profile, farm, spray, crop-history, expense, invoice, and device-token records, subject to the limited retention described above.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to withdraw consent where applicable. You can update profile and farm information in the App or contact us using the address below.
9. Children's Privacy
Farm Tracker is intended for farmers and farm-management users and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
10. International Processing
Information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such processing.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, our practices, or legal requirements change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
